Seasonal Ooze

SUMM

fractured frogman fractal shadow on sandpebble river floor of cool jade sweat-sweeping swimmers’ membrane and hot dry myrtlewood winds of semiautomatic ambience ushering evicted leaves of myrtle madrone maple tanoak to tragic browny-white windripped pacific.

morning star Mars and Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer approach.

serpent—spiral road—glass door to saturn’s future?

anfractuous stagnant heatweeks—monoi nights—scented consciousnesses—oil inertias.

splintered timbers of sad gristly san-pedroisms drawn down to weight of midsummer gravities seared day to dark incense of conifer sinking into feline freejazz flea cleansings among fine santa maria chardonnay and grilled chickentits among long yellow slants of angels among holy cooling westwind myths of old doug fir stump sap stuck to my buttocks.

other arbor acquaintances: chinquapin—hemlock—madrone—alder—manzanita—cedar—tanoak.

blurred oily lenses freeing ocular headaches.

orange cat on a hot wood step.

cat on a hot sin reef.

saturn at opposition!—

wee white jellyfish bloom droops from cornjewel eye in hopeful clutch of bee.

no home shall contain legal electrical wall outlets.

mercurial hypnagogic ephemera.

herewith writes d. lovell: “pretty significant quake activity going on several 7+ in last few weeks & fitting a pattern that was predicted, when saturn would line-up with jupiter, sun moon & earth. probably the comet having an effect on all reality too!”

sun ra’s dead eyes atwinkle.

WINT

From Nectars of Sky, Spruce Coast Press, 2020

look look look

oh look—

our wholesome white pinhole in great cassiopeiac teardrop sky

heaven is squawking at us

stand firm on ‘ere water 'else i breathe heaving gray fogs

snow slaves to radiation of deer and the winged ones and polite noon gravities

flattened hidden brambles and foxglove rosettes and swirls of barbed wire rust

fall forward into the heavy wet

and frozen bubble toes

mound of broke branch

vertical white comets they may a-plunge

mercy! mercy!

vertical reverie behind the mystic harsh sitka beach

western red cedar, doug fir in stacks

severed tanoaks and manzanita madrone, halls miles upon lonesome miles

taste the sausage and smoked salmon and the green garlics

that hot woodfired coffee of witches

stitched between vivid solar reflect and stern flat steel-pan skies

and promising pregnancy like a dancing spring doe

simple energies urging me to freeze feet avoiding dump-thump of branch avalanche

in silent wist i awaken to the old folk croak of dylan delivering truths

howling of hardfalling rains and blue-eyed sons and twelve misty mountains

hoopy tambourine men and hurricane boxer winds

they be a-blowin'—

—answers to me today,

tiny twinkled angels of aromatherapeutic atmospheres,

precious crispness of bluey-white chill, settling in densities,

truth-wrapping my weighted worm mind

silent white static

silent white summer, storybook meadow of huge-hipped firs

prescient realization wielding rare ranch glaring in gray

delicate quail tracks from tree-welling tapping secret pedospheres

weeping on down to secret salmonid holes

sleeping,

dreaming inside secret lives of rainbows
